Literature Text

desert                               with                               no                               end

Are you thirsty?                            Do you see wavering pools of acrid water?
Yes. I thirst.                                    No, I see only the sweat, mixed with tears.

Are you hungry?                         Do you wish you had a carcass to gnaw?
Yes. I hunger.                                 No, I wish I would die and feel nothing.

Are you alone?                           Has your god abandoned you here?
I am not alone.                              He will deliver me, even unto death.

prison                                       heavily                                                   guarded

Are you afraid?                            Do you long for waiting days to end?
Yes. I fear.                                    No, I long only for my freedom.

Are you cold?                              Do the iron chains and bars and gates freeze you?
Yes. I shiver.                                 No, my dead, captive soul is ice in my chest.

Are you alone?                            Has your god abandoned you here?
I am not alone.                              He will deliver me, even unto death.

mistake                    committed                  over                   and                    over

Are you ashamed?                       Do you wish you had never been born?
Yes. I blush.                                   No, I wish for the impossibility of atonement.

Are you broken?                          Do you want the punishment to stop?
Yes. I bleed.                                   No, I want to earn redemption.

Are you alone?                            Has your god abandoned you here?
I am not alone.                              He will deliver me, even unto death.

storm                         on                             open                                          sea

Are you frightened?                     Do you feel your heart tearing your ribcage?
Yes. I scream.                                No, my heart is faint within me.

Are you lost?                               Do you wish the rain and waves would drown you?
Yes. I wander.                                No, I want to sail to harbor in calm waters.

Are you alone?                            Has your god abandoned you here?
I am not alone.                               He will deliver me, even unto death.
Not really sure what the psalm is saying, but here's my interpretation. Inaccurate, yes, but it means more to me now. Read the real thing and let me know what you think. Any criticism welcome.

This is really something. Should I read it this way or should I read it that. I can read it like the bible one verse at a time one per day. Base my days events based on my interpretation of that verse. Heck maybe I could start my one religion based on this entry. YeeeHaaaaaaaaa I have a plan.
